The Story of Blaze and What Steampunk Means to Him

Here is a video of Blaze for what would have been my collection of Steampunks sharing their story. But this was one story I couldn’t wait to share! Hope you enjoy, my lovelies!

Blaze’s story:
He has mild epilepsy and cerebral palsy and because of his disabilities he has had trouble making friends with children his own age, but he has always found acceptance within the Steampunk community. These are “his people”. He loves dressing up and is never shy when he is around other people who are also dressed up. I came to Steampunk through him. When he was 8 years old, he heard the Abney Park song “Airship Pirate” and asked me if he could be an airship pirate for Halloween, which, a couple months later, was followed by a request for an airship pirate birthday.

A NEW beautiful Steampunk music video by Lindsey Stirling and Lzzy Hale of Halestorm

Do you love: Lindsey Stirling, Lzzy Hale, Steampunk, Classical/New-Classical/Contemporary-Classical music, or just absolute beauty in any aspect?

Whether or not you said yes, you should check out this music video!

“Shatter Me” by Lindsey Stirling ft. Lzzy Hale, is a remarkable piece of Steampunk beauty in lyric, imagary and talent.
This video captures the story of a clockwork doll and a clockwork mechanic while the song brings out a message of love and wanting love.

Lindsey Stirling is a talented violinist, dancer and performer who began her incredible journey on YouTube and then onto America’s Got Talent and now has exploded into a sensation of Pop and Classical with dabblings in Dubstep, Electronica, and other music genres. For her links:

UPDATE: SHARE YOUR STEAMPUNK STORY Video Montage

Reblogging this in hopes people will find a few moments to email me their videos of their Steampunk story and “What Steampunk Means To Them.”

Adventures of a Steampunk Stowaway

Hello, my lovelies!

I know it’s been a long while since I’ve been active. But jumping ship to ship and attempting to stay as a stowaway is hard. Staying incognito has resulted in hiding away from even you all!

But I wanted to talk about my hopeful project:

My wish is to compile a video collection of Steampunks from all over expressing what Steampunk means for them. You can express your own definition of what Steampunk means to you or what being a Steampunk means to you and in your life.
I ask that your video be as well lit as possible, sound quality be efficient enough to hear you, and the length be around one to two minutes long. I encourage you to wear Steampunk clothes, but it’s not required! I want you all to share your story of Steampunk! I will be collecting these videos for a few…

Podcast Interview with Kendra L. Saunders

Image

Hello, my lovelies!

I interviewed Kendra L. Saunders on April 15, 2014. She was a more than wonderful guest here at Framingham State University. She taught her class on creative writing and publishing on campus and had a more private session with the Creative Writing Club. But Kendra L. Saunders is more than a writer, author and poet, she is also a photographer and a fellow Steampunk among many things. Before she left after her sadly brief visit, I was able to snag her for an interview.

So I hope you listen to it and enjoy.
